Nuraghic village Su Romanzesu. The archaeological park, run by the co-operative Istelai of Bitti, is situated on a granitic plateau which stretches on the highest part of the territory of Bitti. Its origin dates back to the XVI cent B.C. and was enlarged in the XIII cent B.C. It is made up of about a hundred huts used as dwellings and three buildings used for cultural purposes, next to an area where cerimonies were held (two of the buildings are megaron temples and one is built in the shape of a
well). The interesting and original compex has a rather unusual strcture and deserves a visit. It is considered one of the most important villages of the nuraghic period extant in Sardinia.

Maimone.

On its sides, characterized by rough gulleys, canyons and depressions, it is possible to visit caves and domus de janas and admire flora and fauna species that are about to become exstinct. It is also possible to find signs of the ancient presence of man in the pinnettos, typical dwellings of the shepherds. |
